This Friday several new Hindi offerings are being released at box office, that include romantic comedy Bareilly Ki Barfi, historical drama Partition 1947 and action drama VIP 2 Lalkar. Out of these three, only the first one has some buzz among audience but that also doesn’t seem able to compete with last week’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha.
Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Bareilly Ki Barfi stars Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles. With it’s promos, the movie made good impression on fans, also it is being praised by all the Bollywood celebrities after the screening, but this is not enough for a decent start.
All the leading actors have tasted failure in their last ventures, and also Bareilly Ki Barfi has not been promoted on a good scale. So considering the facts it is expected to open in a range of 2-2.50 crores, as most of the audience is still unaware about it’s release. But yes if viewers react in favor, the movie could take decent growth over the weekend.
On the other hand, Gurinder Chadha’s directorial Partition 1947 is the Hindi version of English movie Viceroy’s House stars Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Manish Dayal, Huma Qureshi, Adil Hussain and Michael Gambon. It is all about the India and Pakistan partition.
Partition 1947 has received good response from the screenings held in India as well as other parts of world, but being almost a silent release, it’s fate depends on word of mouth. The movie is not expected to open with more than 0.25 crore.
The third one, Dhanush and Kajol starrer VIP 2 Lalkar is the dubbed Hindi version of Tamil movie Velai Illa Pattadhaari 2 (VIP 2) that was release last Friday. It’s a sequel to big Kollywood hit 2014’s VIP and received good response from Tamil audience.
Let see how much attention Soundarya Rajnikanth’s directorial will get from Hindi audience. As per reports, it seems to take the opening of less than 1 crore across the country.
