2 States Movie Review (Released Today)

Heart Blowing Movie is getting Mind Blowing Response at Box Office

Finally it is here, 2 States “the movie based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel”. What a stupendous and incredible movie it was, extremely well crafted and directed. This movie showcases the cultural differences in India. India- the land of culture and tradition traps two lovers. As they say love does not come easily, so was their love.

2 States is the story of Ananya Swaminathan (Alia Bhat) and Krish Malhotra ( Arjun Kapoor), the two love bugs who fight the world ( more precisely their own families) to get married.

First half was amazingly well. It is here when the college romance was on its peak. It was on the convocation day that their families met. But wait it did not come easy. Through a series of great struggle Krish manages to make him accept by Ananya’s family. The IIM-Ahmedabad Campus added on to the beauty of the dance sequence ‘locha-e-ulfat‘. 

After the interval began the real challenge for Ananya. Travelling all the way to Delhi, saving Minti’s marriage she does everything to convince their parents. Finally it is in Mumbai that the two families break apart. The love is turned materialistic by their families. Krish and Ananya separate and this makes their families realize the worth. It is Krish’s father who makes the whole thing in his favour and they get married. This fantastic film teaches us it is not the community that we marry but the person with we have to spend our life matters. 

The film showed an overall occupancy of 40-45%. Mumbai and Delhi had an occupancy of 70% while even central India was not far behind with 60%. The state of Gujarat showed a tremendous occupancy of about 80%, credit going to the IIM-A shooting. While Dehradun and Pune showed an occupancy of 55%. Chennai also showed a moderate occupancy of about 60%. This major occupancy is also credited to the National holiday of Good Friday. By the evening the occupancy is assumed to go low due to IPL but still the total occupancy of the movie in India is 95-100%.

Public Response after watching 2 States Movie

When asked about the people here they showed an overwhelming response to the movie. For some the movie was manifested so well while for the others Arjun and Alia were on the top. Ronit Roy’s acting was applauded as well. We could see people giving about 4-4.5 stars for the movie. While for some it was exceedingly amazing. The fine tuning between the duo and the music made it even more craving to watch. Under Abhishek’s direction and Karan Johar’s production 2 States is the kind of movie that has already taken millions of hearts. Plus the swaying music makes you dance on the beats.

On the whole this movie is worth watching.
