Superstar Salman Khan starrer highly awaited movie Tubelight, which was expected to go past 300 crores domestically in it’s lifetime, has actually not touched the mark of 120 crores so far. Due to mixed reactions of critics as well as audience, it got failed to keep hold and crashed too early.
After blockbusters like Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, this time director Kabir Khan tried a new genre with Salman but unfortunately got failed to convey that emotion properly to audience. Most of the viewers found it below the mark and denied it badly.
Despite solid star power and wide scale promotion, Tubelight registered the under-performance opening week and fetched the amount of 106.86 crores, that included 64.77 crores of weekend and 42.09 crores of weekdays from approx. 4400 screens across the country.
Then in the second week, this war drama dropped abruptly by heavy rate and reported the business of only 11.65 crores, with 8.25 crores in weekend and 3.40 crores in weekdays. Now the movie is running in it’s third week on a more lower note.
In the third weekend, Tubelight did the business of 0.48 crore, that included 0.14 crore of Friday, 0.16 crore of Saturday and 0.18 crore of Sunday. Now once again it is in weekdays and getting limited footfalls in theaters.
Following the same regressive pattern, Salman Khan‘s latest offering minted the amount of 0.07 crore on this Monday and 0.05 crore on Tuesday. With further dip, Tubelight raked 0.04 crore on Wednesday and raised it’s 20 days domestic total to 119.15 crores nett.
