With strong word of mouth, satirical romantic drama Toilet Ek Prem Katha has showed impressive performance at box office for first couple of weeks. After that it got slowed due to new offerings but still reported decent business in the third week. Now in the fourth week it has new biggie Baadshaho in opposite, so the considerable drop in footfalls is normal.
Superstar Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer TEPK was released with huge excitement and as expected received excellent response from audience across the country. With it’s solid content and brilliant performances by the entire cast, the movie has impressed all the viewers.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet Ek Prem Katha registered excellent performance throughout in the first week and did the business of 96.05 crores from around 3000 screens. This was included 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays.
In the second week as well, the movie remained good and minted the amount of 28.35 crores with 19 crores of weekend and 9.35 crores of weekdays. Then in the third week, it witnessed regular drop and raked the business of 7 crores including 4.50 crores of weekend and 2.50 crores of weekdays.
After three weeks, total collection of TEPK was recorded as 131.40 crores at domestic box office. Now Akshay-Bhumi starrer has entered in it’s fourth week and has much awaited Baadshaho and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan in opposite. On 4th Friday, it collected the amount of 0.25 crore with around 55% of drop than previous day and raised 22 days total to 131.65 crores.
