23rd Day Collection of Toilet Ek Prem Katha TEPK, Akshay Kumar’s Film Takes Good Jump Due to Eid Holiday

Three weeks back released Hindi film Toilet Ek Prem Katha has been slowed down now at box office in the fourth week after an excellent innings. Superstar Akshay Kumar starrer this offering has impressed all the viewers across the globe with it’s solid content and received very positive reviews from most of the critics.

Shree Narayan Singh’s directorial this satirical romantic drama has not only ended the long dry spell of Indian box office, but also set new height for Akshay Kumar. It has emerged as his 8th 100 crore grosser domestically and first 200 crore grosser worldwide. Having good hold over the audience despite new offerings, the film became 2nd highest grosser of actor’s career and third highest of the year within 2 weeks of release.

Alongside Akshay, TEPK starring Bhumi Pednekar as a leading lady who has also given brilliant performance like him. In the opening week, it recorded amazing occupancy throughout and did the business of 96.05 crores, that included 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays from 3000 screens across the country.

In the second week despite usual drop in footfalls due to new contendors, Toilet Ek Prem Katha remained good and raked the business of 28.35 crores. It was included 19 crores of weekend and 9.35 crores of weekdays. Then in the third week, Akshay-Bhumi starrer bagged 7 crores with 4.50 crores in weekend and 2.50 crores in weekdays.

After 3 weeks of release, total collection of the film was recorded as 131.40 crores at domestic box office. Now it is running in the fourth week and has biggie Baadshaho in opposite along with Bhumi’s new film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. As a result, it faced around 64% of drop than previous day and added the amount of 0.20 crore to it’s account on 4th Friday.

On the next day i.e. 4th Saturday due to Eid-Al-Adha holiday, Toilet Ek Prem Katha once again showed jump in footfalls and garnered the business of 0.40 crore. With this, total 23 days collection of the film has become 132 crores. As per current trend, now it doesn’t seem to surpass the lifetime total of SRK’s Raees (137.51 crores).
