Superstar Salman Khan’s recent offering Tubelight can be undoubtedly considered as one of the most disappointing Hindi movies of the year. As it was released with huge hype and expectations, but unfortunately got failed to create any magic at box office.
Directed by Kabir Khan, this war drama is the third collaboration of him with Salman Khan. After the blockbusters like Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, their latest venture Tubelight is an epic disappointment for fans and them as well.
Tubelight received mixed reviews from critics as well as viewers and as a result got failed to keep hold over the audience for long. In the opening week, it remained below expectations and did the business of 106.86 crores from approx. 4400 screens across the nation.
The first week business included 64.77 crores of weekend and 42.09 crores of weekdays. Then in the second week, due to mixed reactions Salman-Sohail-Zhu Zhu–Isha Talwar starrer witnessed abrupt drop and recorded the business of only 11.65 crores, with 8.25 crores in weekend and 3.40 crores in weekdays.
In the third week, Tubelight reported limited footfalls in theaters across India and raked the business of only 0.68 crore, with 0.48 crore in weekend and 0.20 crore in weekdays. Now it has come to ground zero and added 0.07 crore more to it’s account in the fourth week, that included 0.05 crore of weekend and 0.02 crore of weekdays.
With this, four weeks total collection of Tubelight has become 119.26 crores nett at domestic box office. While earlier it was expected to go past 300 crores like Salman’s previous movie Sultan.
