The two new offerings of different genres from Hindi cinema, Baadshaho and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has been released this Friday with good excitement among fans. As expected both are getting almost positive response from viewers and attracting more toward theaters.
Action entertainer Baadshaho is the second collaboration of superstar Ajay Devgn with co-actor Emraan Hashmi and director Milan Luthria after 2010’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, which was a big success. So fans are expecting similar performance by the recent one too at box office. In addition to an ensemble cast, there are Vidyut Jammwal, Ileana D’cruz, Esha Gupta and Sanjay Mishra alongside Ajay & Emraan.
Although the movie is receiving mixed reviews from critics but most of the audience have found it entertaining and showing thumbs up. As a result, it registered 7th highest opening of the year on Friday with 12.60 crores of business from 2800 screens across India. With this, it has also emerged as the 2nd highest opener of Ajay’s career after Singham Returns.
On the next day i.e. Saturday due to Eid-Al-Adha holiday and positive public response, Baadshaho witnessed fair growth in footfalls and raked the business of 15.60 crores. After two days of release, total collection of Ajay starrer has become 28.20 crores at domestic box office. Sunday is expected to result in more higher business.
On the other hand, quirky romantic comedy Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is the second collaboration of Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar after the delightful 2015’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Due to the success of their previous movie, this one has been released with good initial excitement and as expected getting positive reviews from audience.
Like Baadshaho, R.S.Prasanna’s directorial too getting mixed reviews from critics but due to it’s entertaining desi plot and brilliant performances of leading due, it is being liked by most of the viewers. On the opening day, with an average occupancy due to clash the movie did the business of 2.71 crores from 1400 screens nationwide.
While on Saturday due to positive word of mouth, it took impressive jump and minted the amount of 5.56 crores and raised it’s 2 days domestic total to 8.27 crores. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is likely to pass the opening weekend on a decent note with further growth on Sunday.
