Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Rajkummar Rao starrer musical drama Fanney Khan was released this Friday along with two more Hindi drama films- Mulk & Karwaan. Among all obviously, the first one is the biggest release with higher screen count and star power, but that is also not getting an acceptable response at the box office.
Directed by Atul Manjrekar, Fanney Khan has got failed to hit the target right and receiving mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience. On Friday, it opened on a dull note in the morning and witnessed limited growth over the evening and night shows. With an overall 10-15% of occupancy, it registered the opening business of only 2.15 crores.
On the next day i.e. Saturday, despite weekend, T-Series’ presentation showed a limited growth of 21% and minted the amount of 2.60 crores. With this, its 2 days total collection has become 4.75 crores at the domestic box office. The budget of Fanney Khan is around 35 crores, so Sunday & weekdays are very crucial for it.
On the other hand, Rishi Kapoor & Taapsee Pannu starrer Mulk has got succeed to impress the viewers with its solid content and getting positive reactions. But on Friday, it also opened on a dull note and did the business of only 1.68 crores. With a jump of 50% on Saturday, it registered the business of 2.81 crores and raised 2 days collection to 4.49 crores.
While the third one, Irrfan Khan, Salman Dulquer & Mithila Palkar starrer Karwaan has hit the target right and receiving positive feedback from the viewers. On Friday, it managed to collect the amount of 1.60 crores on a low note. Then on Saturday, the film showed a jump of 80% and minted 2.80 crores. With this, its 2 days collection has become 4.40 crores.
