After giving hits like No Entry, Welcome & Singh Is Kinng, director Anees Bazmee is back with his another comedy drama film Mubarakan. Starring young-at-60 actor Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D’cruz and Athiya Shetty, it has been released this Friday with decent buzz among audience.
Being a clean family entertainer Mubarakan attracts major segment of audience, also fortunately it is getting positive reviews from most of the critics as well as audience. So it seems to be that slapstick comedy, for which everyone is waiting from a long time.
On Friday, Mubarakan recorded an average occupancy for the morning shows across India. Despite favorable reactions it witnessed slight jump over the evening & night shows, and registered the opening business of 5.16 crores from 2350 Indian screens.
Although with this, Anil-Arjun Kapoor starrer emerged as the twelfth highest opener of the year so far in Hindi Cinema, but it’s Friday’s business was far lower than earlier expectations and ofcourse disappointing as well.
On the next day i.e. Saturday being weekend and due to positive word of mouth, Mubarakan recorded overall 43% of jump in footfalls. With such fair growth, it has collected the amount of 7.38 crores and raised it’s 2 days total collection as 12.54 crores at domestic box office.
Mubarakan has a good budget of 65 crores and it has only this week to prove it’s potential, as from the next week Shahrukh khan-Anushka Sharma’s Jab Harry Met Sejal is all set to take the command of box office. So Anees Bazmee’s directorial has to show more jump on Sunday and remain steady in weekdays.
