This Friday released the much awaited Punjabi comedy adventure drama Super Singh is getting excellent response at box office. Audience liked it and showing great excitement towards the movie. Despite having several new Hindi offerings in opposite, it took bumper start on Friday and remained strong on Saturday as well.
One of the most popular superstars of Punjabi Cinema, Diljit Dosanjh and very charming Sonam Bajwa starrer Super Singh is the first Punjabi superhero movie. The star has a good fan base in India and overseas as well, this is why his latest movie has released with high buzz among Punjabi audience worldwide.
On the opening day, Anurag Singh’s directorial opened on an excellent note and recorded the occupancy of more than 70% in Punjab and Delhi, while around 40% in rest parts of the country. With such strong start, it garnered the business of 1.80 crore on Friday and emerged as the fifth highest opener in Punjabi Cinema so far.
On the next day i.e Saturday, due to weekend and positive word of mouth, Super Singh witnessed decent jump in footfalls and minted the amount of 2.05 crores. With this total collection of the movie after 2 days, has become 3.85 crores nett. from approx. 350 screens nationwide.
On the other hand, highly promoted Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi starrer Bank Chor unfortunately got a poor opening and reviews as well. This comic caper received good buzz on social media because of it’s unique marketing campaign, but got failed to attract audience toward theaters.
On the opening day, it recorded dull occupancy of 5-10% on 700 screens across the country and raked the business of 1.40 crore. On Saturday, despite being weekend the movie remained slow and collected 1.66 crore. After 2 days, total collection of Bank Chor has become 3.06 crores nett. at domestic box office.
