Yes! on it’s opening day, Salman Khan starrer highly awaited Tubelight has fetched lesser amount than expected and received mixed reviews from critics. But that won’t affect it’s performance much, because most of the audience is reacting in favor. Also pre Eid, Muslim audience is not able to watch the film, so the opening it has registered is strong enough.
With enormous buzz among fans as well as moviegoers, Tubelight has been released this Friday and as expected received overwhelmed response from fans. Although some critics have not found it up to the mark, but with the favorable response of viewers the film gained decent word of mouth.
On the opening day, Salman Khan’s latest offering recorded overall 40% of occupancy on 4350 screens across the country and registered the second highest opening of the year in Hindi Cinema with the amount of 21.15 crores, after Baahubali 2 Hindi (41 crores).
On the next day i.e. Saturday due to weekend and decent word of mouth, Tubelight witnessed limited growth and garnered the business of 21.17 crores. After this, total collection of the film has become 42.32 crores at domestic box office. It is positively expected to take good jump on Sunday and Monday due to Eid.
Kabir Khan’s directorial Tubelight is a war drama, set in a period of 1962 during Sino-Indian war. In the film, Salman is playing a lead role of an oddball, along with Sohail Khan, Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu, late Om Puri, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Isha Talwar in crucial supporting roles. Superstar Shahrukh Khan is also a part of it, doing cameo as magician Goga Pasha.
