After becoming the 8th 100-crore grosser of superstar Akshay Kumar at domestic box office and first 200-crore grosser worldwide, now Toilet Ek Prem Katha has emerged as his highest grossing movie of all time by surpassing the lifetime total of Rowdy Rathore (133.25 crores) in 4 weeks of release.
Shree Narayan Singh’s directorial this satirical romantic drama has not only ended the long dry spell of Indian box office but also set a new height for Akshay Kumar‘s career. The movie received huge appreciation from everyone across the globe for it’s solid content and brilliant performances given by the entire cast.
After a strong opening at domestic box office, TEPK remained steady throughout the opening week and did the business of 96.05 crores, that included 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays. In the second week as well, it remained good and collected 28.35 crores with 19 crores of weekend and 9.35 crores of weekdays.
Then in the third week, Toilet Ek Prem Katha got slowed down by usual rate, but still managed keep moving and collected the amount of 7 crores including 4.50 crores of weekend and 2.50 crores of weekdays. In the fourth week, it raked the business of 2 crores that included 1.20 crore of weekend and 0.80 crore of weekdays.
After 4 weeks of release, total collection of Askshay-Bhumi starrer was recorded as 133.40 crores at domestic box office. Now it is running in the fifth week and bagged the amount of 0.30 crore in it’s fifth weekend, with 0.08 crore of Friday, 0.10 crore of Saturday and 0.12 crore of Sunday.
With this, total 31 days collection of Toilet Ek Prem Katha has become 133.70 crores. Now it is running on limited screens across India but still has some hold over audience and seems to rake around 134.25 crores in lifetime domestically.
