3rd Day Collection: ‘Dilwale’ Grosses 65+ Cr in Opening Weekend on Indian Screens

SRK-Kajol ‘Dilwale’ takes Box Office by Storm

Bollywood’s superstar Shahrukh Khan & Kajol starrer this Friday released action comedy Dilwale is storming at box office. The movie has started on an excellent note and receiving terrific response from fans and audience. It has received mixed reviews from Bollywood critics as well as movie goers but still it is flying high on craze. Dilwale is witnessing more than 70% of occupancy across the country and also recorded wonderful response in overseas. The movie also features Varun Dhawan & Kriti Sanon, who are also being appreciated by the audience.

On the very first day, Dilwale was recorded almost 70% of occupancy on Indian screens and minted the amount of 21 crores. It was expected to open with year’s highest opening but due to clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical love story Bajirao Mastani, it scored less and registered year’s third highest opening after Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo & Bajrangi Bhaijaan. From overseas screens too, the movie was recorded excellent business of 22.61 crores till Friday.

On the next day being Saturday, Dilwale was expected to show decent growth in its business but due to mixed response it was raked the business of 20.09 crores with almost similar occupancy. Till the end of its second day, total collection of the movie was recorded as 41.09 crores in India and 40+ crores in overseas. On Sunday being the public holiday, movie has done the highest business of the weekend and collected 24 crores at domestic box office. With these business figures, total weekend collection of Dilwale has become 65.09 crores.
