3rd Day Collection of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Welcome To New York, SKTKS is Excellent!

Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha, and Sunny Singh starrer Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has emerged the first successful Hindi comedy movie of the year 2018. This Friday released, Luv Ranjan’s directorial opened to a good note despite a clash with Welcome To New York and showed solid growth over the weekend due to positive word of mouth.

Based on a bromance vs romance concept, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has got succeed to impress the viewers. Because of its interesting storyline and mind-blowing performances by the leading actors, the movie has received in-favor reviews from most of the critics as well as the audience.

On the opening day, Luv Films & T-Series Films’ collaboration started its journey on a good note and did the business of 6.42 crores from 1650 screens, which is slightly lesser than the opening numbers of Luv’s last film Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (6.80 crores).

From the next day, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety picked up very well and minted the amount of 9.34 crores on Saturday after a solid jump of 45.5%. Then on Sunday, with a further increment in footfalls, it minted the amount of 10.81 cores and raised its first weekend total collection to 26.57 crores at the domestic box office.

On the other hand, the second release of this week Welcome To New York is based on the similar genre but unfortunately got failed to entertain the viewers. From the critics as well as the audience, the movie received mostly negative reviews, due to which it remained poor throughout the opening weekend.

Sonakshi Sinha, Karan Johar, and Diljit Dosanjh starrer did the business of only 0.60 crore on Friday despite higher star power than the opposite one. By remaining almost flat, it bagged the amount of 0.55 crore on Saturday and 0.65 crore on Sunday. With this, it’s 3 days total domestic collection has become 1.80 crore.
