3rd Day Collection of Thaanaa Serndha Koottam TSK & Sketch, Pass Weekend on a Good Note

This Friday released new Tamil movies Thaanaa Serndha Koottam and Sketch have completed their opening weekend on a good note as expected but also witnessed little competition due to clutter at box office. Apart from these, one more Tamil offerings was released on the same day titled Gulaebaghavali.

Directed by Vignesh Shiban, Thaanaa Serndha Koottam is the official remake of 2013’s Hindi movie Special 26. Superstar Suriya and Keerthy Suresh starrer this crime thriller is based on 1987’s Opera house heist and was released with solid buzz among fans due to it’s wide scale promotions and star power.

On the opening day, TSK opened to an excellent note and gained positive word of mouth due to favorable response from viewers. By remaining strong throughout the opening day, it did the business of 7.50 crores from Tamil Nadu screens and approx. 16.25 crores at worldwide box office from 1200 screens.

On the next day i.e. Saturday, the movie faced usual drop but still managed to remain good and collected 4.50 crores. Then on Sunday, with decent jump in footfalls Thaanaa Serndha Toottam garnered 5.50 crores and raised it’s opening weekend total collection to 17.50 crores at Tamil Nadu box office.

On the other hand, Sketch is one of the much awaited Tamil movies of the year starring superstar Chiyaan Vikram and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles. Directed by Vijay Chander, it’s an action thriller and was released with slightly lower buzz than TSK due to lesser promotions.

On Friday, Sketch started it’s journey with overall good note and registered the opening business of 5 crores at Tamil Nadu box office and approx. 10 crores worldwide from 1000 screens. On Saturday, asusual this one too faced considerable drop and minted 3.25 crores.

On Sunday due to holiday, the movie recorded decent growth in footfalls and raked the business of 4.25 crores. With this, total opening weekend collection of Sketch has become 12.50 crores across Tamil state.
