This Friday released romantic action movie from Bollywood, A Gentleman has passed the opening weekend on a disappointing note with limited growth over Saturday and Sunday. Directed by Raj & DJ, it received mixed reviews from critics as well as audience and heading with slow pace.
A Gentleman starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles and despite having good star power, budget and promotions, makers got failed to generate it’s desired pre-release hype. After the release, the movie got failed to impress most of the audience.
On the opening day, Fox Star Studios’ presentation recorded an average occupancy and did the business of 4.04 crores from 2500 screens. Riot in Punjab-Haryana was considered as one of the major reasons behind low performance of the movie on Friday.
But on Saturday i.e. weekend too, A Gentleman remained low and minted the amount of 4.36 crores with slight growth. Then on Sunday as well, it reported little jump and garnered the business of 4.73 crores. After a weekend, it’s total collection was recorded as 13.13 crores which is terrible as compare to it’s budget of 50-60 crores.
While the second one i.e. Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer crime drama Babumoshai Bandookbaaz has also received mixed reviews but showed decent growth over the weekend. It did the business of total 7.53 crores that included 2.05 crores on Friday, 2.41 crores on Saturday and 3.07 crores on Sunday from 1000 screens.
Now both the movies have been entered in weekdays and getting lesser footfalls in theaters than before. One Monday with 50% of drop than Friday, A Gentleman collected 2.03 crores and raised it’s domestic total to 15.16 crores. While Babumoshai Bandookbaaz bagged the amount of 1.38 crore to make it’s business total 8.91 crores.
