4th Day Collection of Gold, Akshay Kumar’s Sports Drama Grows Further on Saturday

Based on India’s first Olympic gold medal as an independent nation, Gold has got succeed to hit the target right and getting an overwhelming response from the viewers across the country. Being the highly-anticipated movie of the year, it opened on a massive note and managing to remain solid despite a major drop.

Featuring superstar Akshay Kumar along with Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh & Sunny Kaushal, Gold stands high on content and performances by all the actors. The movie has received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience and gained a strong word of mouth.

Directed by Reema Kagti, this sports drama was released on Independence Day i.e. Wednesday amid the huge excitement of fans and registered the third highest opening of the year so far in Hindi cinema with 25.25 crores. With such an exceptional start, it has become the biggest opener of Akshay’s career and 19th best of all time.

On Thursday, due to normal working mid-week day, it resulted in a big drop of 67.92% and Gold did the business of 8.10 crores. Then on Friday, the movie witnessed a fair growth of 24.70% in multiplexes and minted the amount of 10.10 crores.

On the next day i.e. Saturday, Excel Entertainment’s production showed a further jump in footfalls due to positive feedback and raked the business of 12.30 crores. With this, the total collection of Gold after 4 days has become 55.75 crores nett at the domestic box office.
