4th Day Collection of Tubelight, Passes Monday on an Excellent Note due to Eid

After getting released on an enormous buzz, superstar Salman Khan starrer Tubelight remained almost flat over the weekend. Due to mixed reviews of critics and pre Eid time, the performance of year’s highly awaited movie got affected and witnessed lesser footfalls in theaters than expected.

Although most of the viewers have reacted in favor of Tubelight but some critics have not found it up to the mark. Also the Muslim fans of Salman were not able to watch the film before Eid. As a result, it got failed to take effective jump in the opening weekend.

Directed by Kabir Khan, Tubelight recorded 35-40% of occupancy across the country and did the business of 21.15 crores from 4350 screens. While on the other hand, adjacently released Allu Arjun starrer Telugu movie Duvvada Jaganndham registered the opening of 18.40 crores from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone.

The opening business of Salman Khan’s this war drama is strong enough during Ramzaan, but earlier it was expected to take the start of 28-30 crores. So the lower opening was disappointing for his fans as well as trade analysts.

On Saturday, despite being weekend Tubelight remained flat and minted the amount of 21.17 crores. On the next day i.e. Sunday, with slight jump of 6%, it raked the business of 22.45 crores made it’s opening weekend total collection as 64.77 crores at domestic box office.

With this, Tubelight has registered the sixth highest opening weekend of Salman Khan‘s career so far after his 2014’s Kick (83.85 crores). Now the movie has entered in weekdays but due to Eid, it remained excellent on Monday and collected the amount of 19.09 crores; to take it’s 4 days domestic total to 83.86 crores.
