5th Day Collection of Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Hindi Social Drama Falls Further on Tuesday

Despite the favorable feedback from the audience, Batti Gul Meter Chalu is not getting the desired response at the box office. After a slow start, it picked up decently over the weekend but has slowed down again on weekdays. While on the other hand, already existing Stree which also stars Shraddha Kapoor in lead role, is heading unaffectedly.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, who gave highly-applauded Toilet Ek Prem Katha last year, Batti Gul Meter Chalu has received mixed reviews from the critics due to some technical flaws. But it got succeed to entertain many viewers and gained a decent word of mouth.

With a slow start on Friday, Shahid Kapoor – Shraddha Kapoor – Yami Gautam starrer this social drama registered the opening of 6.76 crores. Over the weekend, it recorded a decent jump in footfalls and minted the amount of 7.96 crores on Saturday and 8.54 crores on Sunday.

Now Batti Gul Meter Chalu is running on normal working days and as usual, getting lesser occupancy in theaters. On Monday, it faced a drop of 53.26% than Friday and did the business of 3.16 crores. Then on Tuesday, the movie experienced a further decline and minted 2.91 crores.

With this, the total collection of BGMC after 5 days has become 29.33 crores nett (37.60 crores gross) at the domestic box office. Being shot in Uttarakhand, T-Series’ production is getting a good response in the state, but in rest of north India, it is an average on weekdays.
