5th Day Collection of Padmaavat (Padmavati), Rakes 129 Crore Total in 5 Days from India

Deepika Padukone starrer epic period drama Padmaavat that was released this Thursday with huge buzz among audience, has become her seventh movie to enter in 100-crore club after Chennai Express, Race 2, RamLeela, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Happy New Year and Bajirao Mastani.

Padmaavat 5 Days Box Office Collection

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmaavat got released under challenging conditions where the multiplex owners in several states denied to screen it, due to threats and protests by Karni Sena. Despite all this, the movie completed the opening weekend on an excellent note and also gained positive word of mouth.

On the first day, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ presentation recorded overall 55% of occupancy across India and did the business of 19 crores. Before that, it had paid previews on Wednesday and added the amount of 5 crores to it’s account.

Then on Friday due to holiday of Republic Day, Padmaavat showed remarkable growth and raked the business of 32 crores. With almost similar pace, the movie bagged the amount of 27 crores on Saturday and 31 crores on Sunday, that raised it’s first weekend total collection to 114 crores.

Now Deepika-Ranveer-Shahid starrer has entered in weekdays and surprisingly still showing strong hold over audience. On Monday, it faced around 21% of drop than Thursday and garnered the business of 15 crores. With this, total 5 days collection of Padmaavat has become 129 crores at domestic box office.
