This Wednesday released highly awaited Telugu & Tamil movie Spyder has completed it’s extended plus festive opening weekend on a superb note. Despite having last week’s Jai Lava Kusa in opposite and mixed critics reviews, it recorded wonderful occupancy throughout the weekend globally.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, this spy thriller has impressed all the viewers and gained positive word of mouth. As a result, it remained strong over the weekend and showed excellent hold over audience across south India as well as overseas in these 5 days of release.
On the opening day, Spyder recorded outstanding footfalls in theaters and grossed 23.40 crores from Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. At worldwide box office, it did the business of total 51 crores, including 27.60 crores of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, rest of India and international market.
From the next day like all south Indian movies, this one too witnessed abrupt fall in it’s business graph but still remained strong. On Thursday, Spyder raked the business of 17 crores (7 crores AP/T) while collected 11 crores (6 crores AP/T) on Friday and 10.25 crores (6.25 crores AP/T) on Saturday (Dusshera) at worldwide box office.
On Sunday, Mahesh Babu starrer faced slight drop than Saturday and minted the amount of 10.85 crores globally. This includes 6.35 crores gross of Telugu states. The movie has one more day to show it’s full potential, as there is a holiday on Monday due to Gandhi Jayanti.
With this, total collection of Spyder after the 5-days extended opening weekend, has become 100.10 crores at global box office and 49 crores at AP/T box office.
