This Friday released two Hindi offerings Sui Dhaaga & Pataakha have witnessed a solid uptrend over the weekend and remained rock-steady on Monday as well, although the latter one is still low in numbers. On Tuesday, there was a national holiday due to Gandhi Jayanti, so as expected both the movie have recorded a good jump in footfalls across the country.
Directed by Dum Laga Ke Haisha director Sharat Katariya, Sui Dhaaga has got succeed to impress many with its content as well as the performance of leading actors. As a result, it has gained a positive word of mouth, which is helping it to attract the major audience toward theaters on weekdays as well.
On Friday, despite Asia Cup 2018 Final, Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer this comedy-drama registered a decent business of 8.30 crores. Over the weekend, it took a fair growth and minted the amount of 12.25 crores on Saturday & 16.05 crores on Sunday, and raised its opening weekend total to 36.60 crores from 2500 screens.
Now Sui Dhaaga is running on weekdays and still has a very good hold over the audience. On Monday, it faced a drop of only 15.66% than Friday and collected the amount of 7 crores. On Tuesday, due to a holiday, Yash Raj Films’ presentation has garnered the business of 11.75 crores with a solid jump. After 5 days, the total collection of the movie has become 55.35 crores.
On the other hand, Vishal Bhardwaj’s directorial Pataakha has also received positive reviews but still remained low and did the business of 4.05 crores in the weekend that included 0.90 crore on Friday, 1.40 crores on Saturday & 1.75 crores on Sunday. On Monday, the movie collected 0.94 crore with no drop, while on Tuesday due to a holiday, it minted 1.56 crores and raised its 5 days total to 6.55 crores from 875 screens.
