Despite mixed critic reviews, David Dhawan’s directorial Judwaa 2 is getting superb response at box office. After registering outstanding business in the opening weekend, the movie is heading very smoothly in weekdays as well. Within 5 days of release, it has emerged as 8th highest grossing movie of the year so far.
Varun Dhawan, Jacueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu starrer Judwaa 2 is the remake of 1997’s blockbuster Salman Khan starrer Judwaa. Being solo release, it is attracted major segment of audience toward theaters throughout the weekend and still has strong hold over them.
In the opening weekend, this action comedy recorded excellent occupancy across the country and did the business of 59.25 crores, that included 16.10 crores of Friday, 20.55 crores of Saturday and 22.60 crores of Sunday from more than 3500 screens across the country.
On Monday there was a holiday due to Gandhi Jayanti, so Judwaa 2 remained strong and raked the business of 18 crores. Then on Tuesday due to normal working day, it witnessed 55.3% of drop than previous day and collected the amount of 8.05 crores.
On the next day i.e. Wednesday with slight further drop, Sajid Nadiadwala’s production minted the amount of 6.72 crores and raised it’s 6 days total collection to 92.02 crores at domestic box office.
As per the current trend, Judwaa 2 is likely to rake around 98 crores in it’s first week. It will take one more day to the movie to emerge as Varun Dhawan’s 4th 100-crore grosser after ABCD 2, Dilwale and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
