Last Friday released two out of several Hindi offerings A Gentleman and Babumoshai Bandookbaaz have passed the opening week on a low note. Although the first one has raked higher business at box office than latter, but in actual the second one is comparatively better as compare to budget and screen count.
Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer romantic action movie A Gentleman was released with decent buzz and got disappointing start at box office. Due to mixed reviews from critics as well as audience, it remained dull throughout the first week.
Despite good star power, budget and promotions, makers got failed to generate desired pre-release hype for this Raj & DK’s directorial. In the opening weekend, it did the business of only 13.13 crores from 2500 screens in India. This was included 4.04 crores of Friday, 4.36 crores of Saturday and 4.73 crores of Sunday.
Then in weekdays, asusual it recorded lesser footfalls and minted the amount of 2.03 crores on Monday, 1.60 crore on Tuesday and 1.71 crore on Wednesday. On the next day i.e. Thursday, A Gentleman collected 1.35 crore and raised it’s one week domestic total to 19.82 crores.
On the other hand, Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer crime drama Babumoshai Bandookbaaz has also received mixed reviews critics but got succeed to satisfy viewers. In the opening weekend, it did the business of 7.53 crores 1000 screens nationwide. This was included 2.05 crores of Friday, 2.41 crores of Saturday and 3.07 crores of Sunday.
Then in weekdays as well, Kushan Nandy’s directorial remained almost steady and collected the amount of 1.38 crore on Monday, 1.21 crore on Tuesday, 1.12 crore on Wednesday and 1.02 crore on Thursday. After a week, total collection of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz has become 12.26 crores at domestic box office.
