7th Day Collection of Judwaa 2, 1997’s Judwaa Remake Earns 98 Crores Total in 1 Week

Last Friday released highly buzzed action comedy Judwaa 2 has completed it’s one week journey at box office on an excellent note. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the movie remained strong throughout the week and registered the fourth highest first week business of the year so far in Hindi cinema after Baahubali 2, Raees & Tubelight.

Directed by David Dhawan, Judwaa 2 is the official remake of Salman Khan starrer 1997’s blockbuster Judwaa. Most of the audience haven’t found it comparable to the original but still showed  thumbs up. As a result, the movie attracted major segment of audience toward theaters in the first week.

After year’s fourth highest opening, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu starrer took good growth over the weekend and did the business of 59.25 crores, that included 16.10 crores of Friday, 20.55 crores of Saturday and 22.60 crores of Sunday from more than 3500 screens across the country.

Due to Gandhi Jayanti holiday, the movie showed good performance on Monday as well and minted 18 crores. Then in normal working days, asusual it witnessed abrupt drop in footfalls and raked the business of 8.05 crores on Tuesday and 6.72 crores on Wednesday.

On the next day i.e. Thursday with further drop, Judwaa 2 collected the amount of 6.06 crores and raised it’s one week total collection to 98.08 crores at domestic box office. Now from the next week, it will have only one noticeable Hindi offering Chef in opposite. So let see which one will get better response.
