7th Day Collection of Kaala & Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, American Sci-fi Holds Well

Last Thursday released Tamil film Kaala and Hollywood offering Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom are running strong in their dominated regions. Rajinikanth starrer action thriller is getting a major response from south India, while the American sci-fi is backed by a big franchise and performing very well across the country except for south.

Directed by Pa. Ranjith, Thalaiva’s latest offering was released amid lesser buzz than usual, but still managed to open on a terrific note in Tamil Nadu. By remaining almost strong throughout the opening 4-days weekend, it registered the business of 43.75 crores, that included 15.40 crores on Thursday, 10.50 crores on Friday, 8.50 crores on Saturday, and 9.35 crores on Sunday.

Now Kaala is running on weekdays and as usual, it faced an abrupt drop in footfalls due to normal working days. With considerable dips, Dhanush’ production grossed the business of 4.50 crores on Monday and 3.85 crores on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the film raked 3.25 crores and raised its 7 days total to 55.35 crores at the TN box office.

On the other hand, the sequel to 2015’s very successful Jurassic World is showing an excellent performance at the box office since release. Due to high recall value, it opened strongly and remained strong throughout the 4-days extended weekend and garnered 40.10 crores total, that included 6 crores on Thursday, 7.75 crores on Friday, 12.25 crores on Saturday, and 14.10 crores on Sunday.

Now on weekdays as well, Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom has a good hold over the Indian audience. With a slight drop than Thursday, it minted the amount of 4.75 crores on Monday, and 4.45 crores on Tuesday. On Tuesday, JA Bayona’s directorial bagged 4.10 crores and raised its 7 days India total to 53.40 crores.
