After an under-performed weekend, director Sabbir Khan’s recent venture Munna Michael got failed to keep hold over the audience in weekdays. Although the weekdays were very crucial to be on safe side but unfortunately due to mixed reviews from critics as well as viewers, it crashed down abruptly.
In the opening weekend, Munna Michael recorded lower response than expected and did the business of 21.67 crores, that included 6.65 crores of Friday, 6.32 crores of Saturday and 8.70 crores of Sunday from approx. 3000 screens across the country.
Then in weekdays, Tiger Shroff’s latest offering faced abrupt drops in footfalls and partly lost all it’s pace. On Monday, it witnessed 51% of drop than Friday and minted the amount of 3.25 crores. On Tuesday, the film dropped further and added 2.65 crores to it’s account.
On the next day i.e. Wednesday, Munna Michael raked the business of 2.15 crores. Then on Thursday, with more dip it collected the amount of 1.90 crore and raised it’s first week total collection to 31.62 crores at domestic box office.
After such an average performance in the opening week, Munna Michael can be considered as flop at box office. Also from the second week it will have new offering Mubarakan in opposite, so conditions won’t be easy for Tiger Shroff starrer.
On the other hand, black drama Lipstick Under My Burkha released in opposite to Munna Michael and did the business of 5.80 crores in the opening weekend on a decent note from 400 screens.
But in weekdays it remained rock-steady and minted the amount of 1.28 crore on Monday, 1.36 crore on Tuesday and 1.27 crore on Tuesday. Then on Thursday on a similar note, Alankrita Shrivastava’s directorial raked 1.25 crore and made it’s one week total as 10.96 crores.
