Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly buzzed film Padmaavat that was earlier known as Padmavati had completed the opening weekend on a superb note and received positive reviews from everyone. Due to positive word of mouth, in weekdays as well it has a very strong hold over the audience and heading steadily.
Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles, Padmaavat opened to an excellent note on its opening day and registered the biggest opening of Ranveer and Shahid’s career so far. It collected the amount of 19 crores, which is impressive despite non-screening in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
A day before the film had its limited paid previews on Wednesday commenced from the evening and bagged the amount of 5 crores. On Friday due to Republic Day holiday, this epic period drama took a remarkable growth and did the business of 32 crores.
By successfully maintaining the pace, Padmaavat registered the business of 27 crores on Saturday and 31 crores on Sunday. After the opening weekend, the total collection of the film was recorded 114 crores at the domestic box office.
Presented by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Padmaavat is now running in the weekdays and still not showing any sign of slow down. On Monday, it minted the amount of 15 crores with a drop of approx. 21% than Thursday.
On the next day i.e. Tuesday, the film remained rock-steady and added the amount of 14 crores to its account. Then on Wednesday, it faced around 11% drop and garnered the business of 12.50 crores. With this, the total domestic collection of Padmaavat has become 155.50 crores.
