Superstar of Punjabi, Diljit Dosanjh starrer much awaited action comedy Super Singh has completed one week journey at box office on a good note. Despite having several Hindi offerings in opposite, it remained steady throughout the opening week and received positive reviews from critics.
Audience liked the film and reacted in it’s favor, as result Super Singh gained positive word of mouth and enjoyed good footfalls in theaters throughout. It started the journey with fifth highest opening ever in Punjabi Cinema and did the business of 5.75 crores in the opening weekend, that included 1.80 crore of Friday, 2.05 crores of Saturday and 1.90 crore of Sunday.
Then in weekdays, Anurag Singh’s directorial witnessed usual drop due to normal working days but still managed to remain steady. With around 39% of fall than last Friday, it minted the amount of 1.10 crore on Monday. With further drop, the film added the amount of 0.95 crore on Tuesday and 0.90 crore on Wednesday.
On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, Super Singh recorded more dip and raked the business of 0.73 crore. With this, total one week collection of the film has become 9.43 crores from around 350 screens at domestic box office.
On the other hand, Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi starrer comic thriller Bank Chor has completed the week on a poor note. Bumpy’s directorial received unfavorable reviews from most of the critics as well as viewers, which remained it dull throughout.
Although it was released with good promotions, but still got failed to attract audience toward theaters. In the opening weekend, Bank Chor did the business of only 4.36 crores, with 1.40 crore on Friday, 1.66 crore on Saturday and 1.30 crore on Sunday.
In weekdays due to normal working day and negative reactions, the film reported regular drop in it’s business graph. With around 35% of drop than the opening day, it fetched the amount of 0.91 crore on Monday, 0.81 crore on Tuesday and 0.66 crore on Wednesday.
On Thursday with more drop, Bank Chor added the amount of 0.56 crore to it’s account and raised the opening week total collection to 7.30 crores nett. from 700 screens across the country.
