After passing the opening week on a solid note, the official Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat Dhadak has entered in the second week with a usual drop in footfalls but still has a maintained pace. Karan Johar’s production can easily compete with Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 2 & Nawabzaade, its major competition is with highly anticipated Mission Impossible: Fallout.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak has received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience, but still, it got succeed to pull major crowd toward itself and scored good numbers at the box office despite having the mighty Sanju in the opposite which has become the all-time blockbuster.
Due to wide-scale promotions and huge popularity of the original, Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor starrer opening on a better note than expected and did the business of 33.67 crores in the opening weekend with 8.71 crores on Friday, 11.04 crores on Saturday and 13.92 crores on Sunday from 2235 screens across the country.
Then on weekdays as well, it remained impressive and bagged the business of total 17.89 crores that included 5.52 crores of Monday, 4.76 crores of Tuesday, 4.06 crores of Wednesday, and 3.55 crores of Thursday. After a week, the total collection of Dhadak was recorded as 51.56 crores.
Now once again, Zee Studios’ presentation is enjoying a weekend with a good hold over the audience. On its 2nd Friday, the movie faced a drop of 26.48% than the previous day and minted the amount of 2.61 crores. With this, its total collection after 8 days has become 54.17 crores at the domestic box office.
