8th Day Collection of Fukrey Returns, Gets Higher Occupancy than all new Offerings

Last Friday released Fukrey Returns has completed the opening week on an excellent note by remaining solid throughout due to positive word of mouth. Now this comedy drama has been entered in a new week and still has good hold over the audience despite having number of new offerings in opposite that also include one Hollywood biggie Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Being the sequel to 2013’s much applauded & successful Fukrey, Fukrey Returns was released with good recall value and positive expectations. But by leaving everyone surprised, it opened to a beyond-expected note and registered the business of 32.20 crores in the first weekend, that included 8.10 crores of Friday, 11.30 crores of Saturday and 12.80 crores of Sunday.

Within the opening weekend, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s directorial recovered all it’s investment and also remained steady in weekdays. With acceptable drop due to normal working days, Fukrey Returns did the business of 5.10 crores on Monday, 5.05 crores on Tuesday, 4.30 crores on Wednesday and 3.90 crores on Thursday.

After the first week, total collection of the movie was recorded as 50.55 crores. Now Excel Entertainment’s production has been entered in it’s second week and still continuing it’s winning stride at box office. With 15% of drop than previous day, Fukrey Returns raked the business of 3.31 crores on 2nd Friday and raised it’s 8 days domestic total collection to 53.86 crores.

With this, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Dhawam, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadha & Pankaj Tripathi starrer has surpassed the lifetime total of Sachin: A Billion Dreams (50.89 crores) at domestic box office.
