8th Day Collection of Golmaal Again, Ajay-Parineeti Starrer Emerges Highest Grossing Bollywood Film of 2017

Last week released highly buzzed Golmaal Again has completed the opening week on an excellent note and still has strong hold over the audience globally. Despite having Aamir Khan’s production venture Secret Superstar in opposite, this action comedy performed remarkably at box office and emerged as superhit.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, it is the fourth installment of his popular franchise Golmaal. As expected the film is being liked by all the audience and received positive reviews from most of the critics. As a result it gained strong word of mouth and diverted major crowd toward itself.

Due to high initial buzz, Golmaal Again opened to a tremendous note and registered biggest opening of the year in Bollywood. By keeping the pace maintained, it raked the business of 87.60 crores total in the opening weekend, that included 30.14 crores of Friday, 28.37 crores of Saturday and 29.09 crores of Sunday from approximately 3500 screens across the country.

Then in weekdays asusual superstar Ajay Devgn starrer witnessed some drop in footfalls but still remained excellent. It did the business of 16.04 crores on Monday, 13.25 crores on Tuesday, 10.05 crores on Wednesday and 9.13 crores on Thursday. After one week, total collection of the film was recorded as 136.07 crores at domestic box office.

Now once again Golmaal Again is in weekend and has no strong competitor in opposite. On 2nd Friday, it faced around 20% of drop than previous day and minted the amount of 7.25 crores. With this, it’s 8 days total collection has become 143.32 crores and emerged as highest grossing Bollywood film of the year by surpassing the lifetime total of Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 (138.31 crores).
