8th Day Collection of Toilet Ek Prem Katha TEPK, Enters in 100 Crore Club with 2nd Friday

After an excellent first week, year’s fifth successful Hindi movie Toilet Ek Prem Katha has been entered in the second week and still has complete hold over the audience across the country. Despite several new Hindi offerings of this week, Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer this satirical romantic drama is reigning at box office.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet Ek Prem Katha is being liked by everyone. With it’s solid content and brilliant performances by the entire cast, it has received very positive reviews from most of the critics as well as audience. The effect of favorable reactions, can be easily seen by the box office numbers.

In the opening weekend, TEPK started the journey on good enough note and registered the 6th highest opening of the year so far in Hindi cinema with 13.10 crores of business. Due to positive word of mouth, the movie picked up impressively well from the next day and did the business of 17.10 crores on Saturday and 21.25 crores on Sunday.

Then in weekdays too, Toilet Ek Prem Katha remained strong because of itself and holidays. On Monday it witnessed considerable drop in footfalls but due to partial holiday of Krishna Janmashtami remained good and minted 12 crores. Then on Independence Day i.e. Tuesday, once again the movie took fair jump and raked 20 crores.

With usual drops in normal working days, it collected the business of 6.50 crores on Wednesday and 6.10 crores on Thursday. After a week, total collection of Akshay-Bhumi starrer was recorded as 96.05 crores at domestic box office.

Now TEPK is in the second weekend and despite Bareilly Ki Barfi, Partition 1947, VIP 2 Lalkar and Annabelle Creation, it remained unaffected and garnered the business of 4 crores with 34.5% of drop than previous day. With this, Toilet Ek Prem Katha has grossed 100.05 crores nett after 8 days and emerged as the 7th 100-crore-grosser of the year and 5th of Akshay in a row.
