Highly anticipated movie of the year Tubelight has unfortunately got failed to impress viewers as well as critics. As a result, it remained under expectations in the opening weekend and witnessed abrupt falls in weekdays. Although it completed a week on a good note but low in comparison to Salman’s stardom.
Due to mixed reviews from critics, Tubelight crashed down too early at box office, which is very disappointing for Salman fans. Earlier it was expected to break his previous records, but Kabir Khan’s directorial this war drama now doesn’t even seem to cross the mark of 150 crore at domestic box office.
In the opening weekend, Tubelight recorded lower response than expected and did the business of 64.77 crores, that included 21.15 crores of Friday, 21.17 crores of Saturday and 22.45 crores of Sunday from 4350 screens across the country.
Then in weekdays, the movie witnessed regular drops and lost most of it’s hold over audience. On Monday despite Eid holiday, Salman Khan’s latest offering got failed to take jump and minted the amount of 19.09 crores. With further dips, it added 12 crores on Tuesday and 6.50 crores on Wednesday.
On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, Tubelight managed to collect the amount of 4.50 crores with more drop and made it’s opening week total as 106.86 crores. Now the movie has entered in the second week and minted the amount of 2.15 crores on it’s second Friday with over 50% of drop than previous day.
With this, total collection of Tubelight has become 109.01 crores after 8 days of release at domestic box office. After the denial of audience and having newly released Transformers The Last Knight in opposite, Salman starrer doesn’t seem to show considerable growth in it’s second weekend.
