9th Day Collection of Baadshaho and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Getting Better Response than new Offerings

Action historical drama Baadshaho and quirky romantic comedy Shubh Mangal Saavdhan that were released last week, are getting better response in the second week than new offerings. After a good opening week, both the movies still have good hold over the audience and heading steadily.

Superstar Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jammwal, Ileana D’cruz, Esha Gupta and Sanjay Mishra starrer Baadshaho is based on gold heist set against the backdrop of 1975 during the time of Emergency in India. Directed by Milan Luthria, it received mixed reviews from critics but audience found it interesting and entertaining.

After a good opening at domestic box office, Baadshaho picked up well over the weekend and remained steady in weekdays as well. It did the business of total 64.14 crores in the first week, that included 43.30 crores of weekend and 20.84 crores of weekdays from 2800 screens nationwide.

Now it is running in second weekend and giving heavy competition to new offerings Poster Boys and Daddy. On 2nd Friday, with around 42% of drop than previous day, it minted 2.10 crores. While on Saturday, Baadshaho raised it’s business total to 68.84 crores by collecting the amount of 2.60 crores.

On the other hand, RS Prasanna’s directorial Shubh Mangal Saavdhan was opened on an average note but picked up impressively well from the next day due to positive reviews. In the opening week, it did the business of 24.03 crores, that included 14.46 crores of weekend and 9.57 crores of weekdays.

Now Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer is running in the second weekend and still holding well. On 2nd Friday, with around 26% of drop than Thursday, it minted 1.54 crore. Then on 2nd Saturday, once again the movie showed growth and collected 2.95 crores. With this, total 9 days collection of SMS has become 28.52 crores domestically.
