The debut film of sensational Sara Ali Khan paired opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, Kedarnath has passed the opening week on a solid note and now in the second weekend as well, it is showing a fair uptrend at the box office despite the new major arrivals Hollywood superhero film Aquaman & Marathi film Mauli.
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the intense love story Kedarnath has received mixed reviews from the critics as some found it weak in direction & story-line. But from the audience in metro cities, the film is getting good support and as a result, heading steadily at the box office.
Sushant-Sara starrer started its journey on a good note overall and despite being banned in the state Uttarakhand, it managed to stay steady throughout the opening week and registered the business of 42.45 crores that included 27.75 crores in the weekend and 14.70 crores on weekdays from 1900 screens.
Now Kedarnath is running in its second weekend with 1280 screens across India. Despite the much-awaited Aquaman & Mauli, the film still has a strong hold over the audience and managed to collect the amount of 2.51 crores on 2nd Friday after a drop of 20% as compared to the previous day.
On the next day i.e. 2nd Saturday, RSVP Movies & Guy in the Sky Pictures’ production witnessed a fair jump in footfalls and garnered the business of 3.98 crores. With this, its 9 days total collection has become 48.94 crores at the domestic box office.
