‘Airlift’ has Grossed 83.50 Cr in Opening Week

After showing remarkable performance in the opening week, now ‘Airlift’ is attaining its pace back. Raja Krishna Menon’s directorial this war thriller film is being loved by everyone and flying high on buzz at box office. It has received very positive reviews from critics as well as moviegoers, and grossing excellent business figures across the country. The lead star Akshay Kumar has given best performance of his career till yet and is getting praised by audience. Leading lady Nimrat Kaur who debuted in Bollywood with critically acclaimed film Lunch Box, has once again proved herself as one of the finest actresses in the industry.

In the opening week, Airlift has done very impressive business of 83.50 crores on Indian screens and dominated the record of Akshay’s very successful film Rowdy Rathore. The week total includes 44.30 crores of weekend and 39.20 crores of weekdays. The collection stats themselves shows the steady performance of the film. Not only in weekend but in weekdays too, it has received commendable response from audience. On the Republic Day, it witnessed highest response and minted the amount of 17.80 crores. From overseas market, it has earned 26.53 crores in one week.

Now it has entered in its second week and started getting considerable rise in the occupancy as well as business. On its second Friday, this Akshay starrer has received well response and raked the amount of 4.50 crores. This week, two new films Mastizaade and Saala Khadoos have also released at box office and obviously hampering the smooth journey of Airlift. But still due to strong word of mouth and content, it stands on top and ruling on box office. It is positively expected to touch the mark of 100 crore till this weekend at domestic box office.
