Neeraj Pandey’s highly anticipated Aiyaary has unfortunately emerged as the biggest disappointment of 2018 so far. The decently buzzed crime thriller has got failed to impress viewers and received mixed reviews from the critics. As a result, it is losing hold over the audience with every single day within the first week.
After the two big hit thrillers Special 26 and Baby as a director with superstar Akshay Kumar, Neeraj Pandey has collaborated with Sidharth Malhotra this time for Aiyaary but missed the target partly. This can be easily seen by its box office numbers, which are lower than Sid’s Ittefaq and A Gentleman.
Despite good buzz and promotions, Aiyaary opened to a dull note on Friday and received mixed remarks from everyone. Then it picked up slightly over the weekend but still remained low and did the business of 4.05 crores on Saturday and 4.35 crores on Sunday.
After the opening weekend, the total collection of the film was 11.75 crores. Now Aiyaary is running on weekdays and due to normal working days, it is slowing down considerably. On Monday it raked the business of 1.43 crore. On the next day i.e. Tuesday, Sidharth-Manoj-Rakul starrer bagged 1.10 crore with a further drop.
With this, the total collection of Aiyaary after 5 days, has become 14.29 crores at the domestic box office. As per current trend, it doesn’t seem able to go past the mark of 25 crores in the lifetime.
