Unfortunately, the decently buzzed Aiyaary has got failed to impress the audience as well as critics and getting a dull response at the box office since its release. Being a Neeraj Pandey’s directorial, this crime thriller was expected to perform well like his previous films, but on the contrary, it is just disappointing.
This is for the first time Neeraj Pandey has collaborated with Sidharth Malhotra, but the result hasn’t come out positive. Aiyaary can be considered as the biggest disaster of 2018 so far, not because of Sidharth’s bad luck but the film itself has no effective storyline.
Despite a good hype and wide-scale promotions, Aiyaary opened to a dull note on Friday and registered the lower opening than Sidharth’s previous flop A Gentleman (4.04 crores). By remaining almost flat over the weekend, it did the business of 11.76 crores that included 3.36 crores of Friday, 4.05 crores of Saturday and 4.35 crores of Sunday.
Then on weekdays as well, Sidharth-Manoj-Rakul starrer got failed to maintain a steady pace and slowed down considerably. On Monday, it minted the amount of 1.43 crore after a drop of approximately 57% than Friday. Then on Tuesday, the film raked the business of 1.10 crore.
On the next day i.e. Wednesday, Aiyaary dropped further and collected the amount of 0.97 crore. With this, it has raised its 6 days total collection to 15.26 crores at the domestic box office. Now it is likely to rake around 16 crores only in the first week.
