The Year has proved as Lucky for Akshay Kumar
The year 2015 has come out in complete favor for Akshay Kumar. Once again he has proved the statement true that, yes! he is the king of box office. All his four movies that includes Baby, Gabbar Is Back, Brothers and Singh Is Bliing have been listed among successful movies of the year. Yeah one corner is left unpainted, not his any movie get succeed in grossing over 100 crores at domestic box office. But all four have been added in the list of 2015’s top 15 highest grosser movies.
As per the Forbes Magazine’s list of world’s highest paid actors in last year (June’14 – June’15), Akshay was acquired the ninth position with $32.5 millions annual income. Forbes stated, Akshay Kumar is the most busiest actor in Bollywood & also titled him as the King of Box Office. This year too he is expected to acquire any place in world’s top 10 highest paid actors. From his account, four movies Airlift, HouseFull 3, Namastey England & Rustom have been announced to be released in next year. One more with director Rohit Shetty & producer Priyadarshan is in air these days but official confirmation is awaited yet.
Baby: This action thriller movie was the directorial venture of Neeraj Pandey and also the second collaboration of Akshay with him after Special 26. It was released on 23 January and featured Akshay Kumar in lead role, along with Taapsee Pannu, Rana Daggubati, Anupam Kher, Kay Kay Menon and Danny Denzongpa in pivotal roles. Baby was made with the budget of 35 crores and grossed total 95.56 crores at domestic box office.
Singh Is Bliing: This action comedy was the directorial venture of Prabhu Deva and his second collaboration with Akshay after Rowdy Rathore. It was released on October 2nd and featured Akshay with Amy Jackson in lead roles. Singh Is Bliing was made with the budget of 92 crores and grossed total 92.70 crores in one month at domestic box office.
Gabbar Is Back: This action drama movie was directed by Krish and released on 1st May. It featured Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. Gabbar Is Back was made with the budget of 72 crores and grossed total 87.55 crores at box office from Indian screens.
Brothers: This action drama movie was directed by Karan Malhotra & released on 14th August under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. It featured Akshay Kumar & Siddarth Malhotra in lead roles, along with Jackie Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez & Shefali Shah in pivotal roles. Brothers was made with the budget of 100 crores and grossed total 82.47 crores at domestic box office.
