Emraan Hashmi’s latest offering ‘Azhar’ has showed decent performance in its opening weekend. The movie has been released with very high expectations and buzz, but unfortunately got failure to acquire desired place in the hearts of audience. It has received positive reviews from most of the critics but not so impressive response from audience. All the pre-release hype has burst like a hot air balloon, along with that Emraan’s dream of giving a hit after 3 years has also washed out.

From UAE-GCC, Azhar reported highest ever collection of Emraan’s career so far with 72.72 lacs on its opening day. Whereas in India, it received decent response and minted the amount of 6.30 cr with almost 30% of occupancy. On the next day, being Saturday it witnessed little rise in its business graph and collected the amount of 7 cr.

On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, being holiday Azhar reported higher response than previous 2 days and did the business of 7.50 cr. After a weekend, total collection of the movie was recorded as 20.80 cr across the country. With this, it has emerged as the ninth highest opening weekend grosser of the year so far.

Now the movie has entered in weekdays, being normal working days it has started witnessing lesser response than weekend. On Monday, Azhar faced almost 60% of drop as compare to Sunday and added the amount of 2.95 cr to its account. After the 4th day, its total collection is recorded as 23.75 cr at domestic box office.
