‘Azhar’ Settles Down at Box Office
Emraan Hashmi’s last week released sports biopic ‘Azhar’ has completed its one week at box office with decent performance. Despite good pre-release buzz and positive reviews by critics, it has not received much response from audience and got failure to acquire desired place in their hearts. The movie started the weekend on decent note and registered average opening week total with continuous drops in weekdays. Now it does not seem to maintain even average pace in its second week in opposite to newly released awaited biopic Sarbjit.
In the first week, it raked the total business of 29.70 cr only across the nation, that includes 20.80 cr of weekend and 8.90 cr of weekdays. The weekend collection consisted of 6.30 cr of Friday, 7 cr of Saturday and 7.50 cr of Sunday. In weekdays, with regular fall in its business graph, it minted the amount of 2.95 cr on Monday, 2.45 cr on Tuesday, 2 cr on Wednesday and 1.50 cr on Thursday. The opening week is quite lesser than the expected figures.
Now the movie has entered in the second week and due to new awaited releases like Sarbjit and X-Men: Apocalypse, it received very low occupancy on its 8th day and minted the amount of 0.75 cr*. After 8 days, total collection of Azhar is recorded as 30.45 cr* on domestic box office. It has lost almost all its hold over audience and now witnessing lower footfall in theaters.
