Baazaar, 5 Weddings, Kaashi, and Dassehra 1st Day Box Office Collection Report

[Total: 6 Average: 2.5]

After a couple of weeks, there is another disastrous Friday for the new Hindi offerings. This week, the audience has Baazaar, 5 Weddings, Kaashi- In Search of Ganga, Dassehra & few more movies to watch. Unfortunately, all the new releases have received mixed reviews from the critics and took a poor start in the morning opposite to the last week’s Badhaai Ho.

Directed by Gauravv K. Chawla, business crime drama Baazaar stars Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, Chitrangada Singh & debutant Rohan Mehra in lead roles. The movie has received mixed reviews from the critics but still managed to divert enough audience toward itself as compared to the other new offerings.

On Friday, it opened on a below-average note with an occupancy of 15%. Over the evening & night shows, Baazaar witnessed a good jump in footfalls and collected the amount of 3.07 crores, which is an average but higher than Saif’s last film Kaalakaandi (1.25 crores).

On the other hand, Rajkummar Rao & Nargis Fakhri starrer romantic drama 5 Weddings has also received mixed reviews and recorded a poor start due to low promotions. On the first day, it opened with an occupancy of only 5% and minted the amount of 0.10 crore at the box office.

Sharman Joshi’s suspense drama Kaashi- In Search of Ganga has acquired the third position among all the new releases and received mixed reviews. With an overall 5% of occupancy, it has done the business of 0.20 crore on the opening day across India.

While Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer thriller Dassehra has witnessed many cancelled shows on the opening day like other new films like Chal Jaa Bapu, Gaon- The Village No More & The Journey of Karma. With an occupancy of less than 5%, it raked the business of 0.04 crore.
