‘Bajirao Mastani’ is Giving Close Competition to ‘Dilwale’

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnus opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is giving neck-to-neck competition to Shahrukh Khan starrer Dilwale. The movie was released last Friday on 3050 screens in India and received very strong reviews from audience as well as critics. Everyone showed thumbs up to the Bajirao Mastani and this is the reason behind, the movie that was lagging behind Dilwale in weekend, has surpassed it in weekdays. This historical love story has showed pretty well business even in normal working days due to its strength.

Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone & Priyanka Chopra starrer Bajirao Mastani was recorded decent occupancy in weekend through out on Indian screens and raked the business of total 46.77 crores. That comprises, 12.80 crores of Friday, 15.52 crores of Saturday & 18.45 crores of Sunday. From its overseas screens, it was did the total business of 29.85 crores till Sunday. In weekdays, Bajirao Mastani has successfully maintained its pace and grossed better than the adjacent biggie Dilwale.

In weekdays the movie has witnessed the drop of 40-50% than weekend and minted the amount of 10.25 crores on Monday, 9.40 crores on Tuesday and 9.21 crores on Wednesday. Whereas SRK-Kajol starrer raked 10.09 crores on Monday, 9.42 crores on Tuesday and 8.79 crores on Wednesday. This is nothing but the magic of strong word of mouth, that Bajirao Mastani has received due to flawless direction of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and brilliant performances of its casts.

On the last day of week, Bajirao Mastani has showed decent rise in its business and added 10.52 crores more to its account as Thursday collection. Till the end of its 7th day, total collection of the movie is recorded as 86.15 crores on Indian screens only.
