‘Bajirao Mastani’ takes lead over ‘Dilwale’ in Week 2

Ace film maker in Bollywood Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s last week released epic film Bajirao Mastani has started spreading its wings. The movie which had reported lesser business than the adjacent one Dilwale in first week, is now taking lead over it. Bajirao Mastani was released on 18th of December with a screen count of 3050 in India. As expected it was received super positive reviews from critics as well as movie goers. Audience liked the movie very much and showed overwhelmed response across the country.

Bajirao Mastani features very versatile actors like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone & Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. Their brilliant performances is one of the main reasons behind its success. In its opening week, the movie has done the business of total 86.15 crores that comprises 46.77 crores of weekend and 39.38 crores of weekdays. The day-wise collections are as follows- Fri 12.80cr, Sat 15.52cr, Sun 18.45cr, Mon 10.25cr, Tue 9.40cr, Wed 9.21cr, Thu 10.52cr. With such tremendous performance, it has dragged itself among top highest grosser movies of the year.

Now Bajirao Mastani has entered in its second week and due to strong word of mouth, it is taking lead over Shahrukh Khan starrer Dilwale. On the 8th day, being Christmas holiday the movie was witnessed good growth in its business and minted the amount of 12.25 crores whereas Dilwale raked 8.11 crores. On the next day i.e. on Saturday, it has recorded almost similar response and raked the business of 10.30 crores. Till the end of its 9th day, total collection of Bajirao Mastani is calculated as 108.70 crores on Indian screens and become 5th highest grosser of the year by dominating the record of ABCD 2.
