‘Dilwale’ & ‘Bajirao Mastani’ Completes 5th Week

Rohit Shetty’s directorial ‘Dilwale’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’, both have completed their 35 days journey at box office. Both were the much awaited movies of last year and released on the same day with huge excitement fans as well as Bollywood lovers. Initially everyone was voting for Dilwale as the winner of this clash. SRK’s Dilwale was started on an excellent note but slowed down very early, whereas Bajirao Mastani was started on a decent note but kept maintained its pace, which made it third highest grosser film of year 2015 after Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

In last four weeks, the magnum opus Bajirao Mastani was minted higher business than Dilwale on Indian screens. It did the business of total 181.01 crores that includes 86.15 crores of first week, 55.70 crores of second week, 29.05 crores of third week and 10.11 crores of fourth week. In parallel, Dilwale raked the business of total 148.72 crores at domestic box office that includes 102.65 crores of first week, 32.56 crores of second week, 11.47 crores of third week and 2.04 crores of fourth week. Shahrukh’s Dilwale did well at overseas box office and collected higher business of approx. 169 crores from there, whereas Bajirao Mastani minted near about 100 crores.

In the fifth week, Bajirao Mastani witnessed low response as expected but still comparatively good than Dilwale; collected amount of 3.15 crores in weekend and 1.85 crore* in weekdays that includes 0.54 crore* of Monday, 0.48 crore* of Tuesday, 0.41 crore* of Wednesday and 0.42 crore* of Thursday. On the other hand, Dilwale recorded very low response; collected only 0.47 crore in weekend and 0.32 crores in weekdays that includes 0.09 crore* on Monday, 0.08 crore* on Tuesday, 0.07 crore* on Wednesday and 0.08 crore* on Thursday. Till the end of five weeks, total collections of these two films are calculated as 186.01 crores* and 149.51 crores* respectively at domestic box office.
