After an overall average opening week, social comedy-drama Batti Gul Meter Chalu has got crashed in its second weekend due to the release of Varun Dhawan & Anushka Sharma starrer much-anticipated romantic comedy-drama Sui Dhaaga– Made in India, which is running successfully worldwide.
A month back released, Shraddha Kapoor’s previous offering Stree is still getting considerable response across the country, but her recent movie with Shahid Kapoor, Batti Gul Meter Chalu has got failed to hit the target right and struggling to attract enough audience just after a week.
After a slow start at the box office, Shree Narayan Singh’s directorial picked up decently over the opening weekend and did the business of 23.26 crores that included 6.76 crores on Friday, 7.96 crores on Saturday & 8.54 crores on Sunday.
Then on weekdays, as usual, the movie witnessed an abrupt drop in footfalls and minted the amount of 3.16 crores on Monday, 2.91 crores on Tuesday, 2.65 crores on Wednesday & 2.45 crores on Thursday. After a week, its total collection was recorded as 34.43 crores nett.
Now Batti Gul Meter Chalu is running in its second week and due to new offerings, passed the weekend on a very low note. On 2nd Friday, it did the business of only 0.53 crore after a huge drop in footfalls. On 2nd Saturday, the movie took a considerable jump and managed to collect 0.95 crore.
On the next day i.e. 2nd Sunday, Bhushan Kumar’s (T-Series) production recorded a further jump and bagged the amount of 1.35 crores. With this, the total collection of BGMC after 10 days has become 37.26 crores nett at the domestic box office.
