Currently, Shraddha Kapoor has her two films running at the box office in parallel to each other. One is, the blockbuster horror comedy Stree with Rajkummar Rao and the second is, this Friday released social drama Batti Gul Meter Chalu with Shahid Kapoor, Yami Gautam & Divyendu Sharma.
Directed by much-liked Toilet Ek Prem Katha‘s director Shree Narayan Singh, Batti Gul Meter Chalu has received mixed reviews from the critics but got succeed to entertain many in theaters. But Still, it witnessed a decent footfall in theaters over the weekend across India.
Bhushan Kumar’s production opened on a slow note on Friday despite a partial holiday of Muharram and registered the opening of 6.76 crores after witnessing a decent growth post noon shows. On the next day i.e. Saturday, it took a jump of 17.75% and minted the amount of 7.96 crores.
Then on Sunday, with a further jump, Batti Gul Meter Chalu raked the business of 8.54 crores and raised its opening weekend total collection to 23.26 crores at the domestic box office. Being shot in Uttarakhand, the film is getting a good response in the state but in rest of north India, it is just decent.
Now Shraddha-Shahid starrer has entered on weekdays and as usual recorded a considerable drop in footfalls. On Monday, it faced a drop of 53.26% than Friday and bagged the amount of 3.16 crores. With this, its 4 days total collection has become 26.42 crores nett.
