Batti Gul Meter Chalu & Manto 2nd Day Collection, Shahid-Shraddha starrer takes a Decent jump

This Friday released social drama Batti Gul Meter Chalu has registered a slower-than-expected but decent start on Friday, which can be considered just an average because it was a partial holiday on accounts of Muharram. Although, due to positive feedback from the audience, it witnessed a good jump on Saturday.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the one who directed Toilet Ek Prem Katha, Batti Gul Meter Chalu has received mixed reviews from the critics but got succeed to entertain many viewers in theaters. As a result, it gained a favorable word of mouth across the country.

On Friday, T-Series’ production took a slow start with an occupancy of only 10-20% for the morning shows. With a decent growth post noon shows in multiplexes, the movie managed to collect the amount of 6.76 crores.

Then on Saturday, Batti Gul Meter Chalu recorded a growth of around 30% in footfalls and minted the amount of 7.96 crores. With this, the total collection of Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor & Yami Gautam starrer after 2 days has become 14.72 crores nett at the domestic box office.

On the other hand, Nawazuddin Siddiqui & Rashika Duggal starrer biopic drama Manto has received mostly positive reviews from the critics but struggling to attract the audience. On Friday, it did the business of 0.45 crore, while on Saturday, it managed to collect 0.70 crore and raised 2 days total to 1.15 crores.
