Superstar Salman Khan’s highly-awaited film Bharat was opened at a tremendous note on Wednesday and maintained a very strong pace afterwards despite a downtrend at the box office till Friday. On Saturday, it picked up back and become the 14th film of Salman to cross 100-crores at the domestic box office.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Salman & Katrina Kaif starrer has got succeed to convince many critics and received mostly positive reviews but the film is getting mixed reactions from the audience in the metro cities, which is not a good sign and won’t help it to run for long.
On Wednesday, Bharat took a terrific opening with an occupancy of around 65% in the morning and attained the desired pace over the evening and night shows due to Eid holiday. At an overall fantastic note, it had registered the business of 42.30 crores which is the 3rd highest opening of all time in Hindi Cinema and the best one for Salman Khan.
On Thursday, the Hindi period drama recorded a normal drop of 26.72% in footfalls but still remained solid and minted 31 crores. While on Friday, it managed to collect the amount of 22.20 crores with a further decline. On the next day i.e. Saturday, the film showed a jump of 20.27% and bagged the amount of 26.70 crores.
After 4 days, the total collection of Bharat has become 122.20 crores nett at the domestic box office from 4700 screens. As per the current trend, Reel Life Productions, T-Series Films and Salman Khan Films’ production is expected to rake around 149 crores by the end of 5-days extended opening weekend.
